weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllll i may have grabbed a jar of chili powder labeled “extra hot red chili powder.”  BUT.  in my defense, there was also a bottle labeled “green jalapeno chili powder” right next to it & it was the very same color.  this being the first time i had made enchiladas at home, i wanted to actually follow the recipe, which called for “red chili powder.”  i think it just meant regular chili powder.  yep.  lesson learned.

tom had maybe three bites.  maybe.  i can usually handle more spice.  i made it through one enchilada.

anyhow, i don’t want to get in the habit of posting videos, especially since some of you might be reading this at work (ahem), but the following scene from modern family (hilarious show, by the way) accurately sums up our dinner experience the night we made…………………enchiladas diablo.
