thirsty thursday: mauritson wine
a few thursdays ago, i got a phone call from the husband. “i stopped to get gas & happened to drive to barley & vine. they’ve got a tasting with a winemaker going on at 6. be ready when i get home.” this happens pretty often, since the gas station is located way, way too close to our favorite wine shop/tasting bar.
this particular tasting was with mauritson from sonoma county (we actually drove right past them while out there on our honeymoon.) we got a sampling of their sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, old vine zinfandel, rockpile zinfandel, which were all very good–check them out, and chatted with cellarmaster matt weese over more wine & some tasty beers. 
we promised that we wouldn’t miss them the next time we’re in the area & he offered up the “matt weese dive bar tour of santa rosa” while we’re there. we’ll be sure to take him up on that!
and of course we didn’t leave empty handed.
