Happy New Year!
We hope everyone had a great time ringing in 2014! Our evening with friends started like this
ended with lots & lots of sparkling & was followed up with a restorative dose of Bojangles this morning.
So, while we get ready to take on a new year, let’s take a look back at some of the favorites from 2013.
This year, our favorite recipes were pretty much in line with the ones y’all liked the most, so we’ve pulled them together in a tasty top five.
Pan Fried Roasted Garlic Ricotta Gnocchi. We whipped these up as part of a recipe contest for the release of Nello’s Provençal Pomodoro Sauce. They’re light, fluffy, full of sweet roasted garlic flavor & easy enough for a weeknight meal.
Roasted Vegetable Lasagne. We created this recipe based on the red sauce vegetable lasagne of my childhood, the winnings of the Nello’s Sauce recipe contest & the need to use up an overabundant CSA box. It’s delicious & versatile…any combination of veggies could easily fit right in.
Pasta with Corn Pesto & Bacon. This was our favorite way to eat corn this summer–tossed in a little bacon fat & blended into a creamy pasta sauce–it doesn’t get much better. Well, the wine certainly didn’t hurt.
Lemony Kale Caesar Salad. Once the lemony Caesar dressing works its magic, there is nothing tough or bitter about the kale. I’m starting to come around to this vegetable, thanks to this salad.
Conchiglie with Yogurt, Peas & Chile. This was the most viewed recipe of the year & the meal we ate the most. We love everything about it. It’s fairly healthy, quick & easy to make & the flavors are amazing. It’s one of the few things that we make over & over & never tire of.
Cheers!
Did my Nello heart just get all sorts of fuzzy? 🙂
Nello’s Italy hope we did you proud 🙂
