when foodies honeymoon: day five
in an attempt to make up for the mediocre dinner the night before, we packed up & headed for the bouchon bakery before we left napa. {gourmet bird, pumpkin cupcakes & spider shortbread, bouchon bag} we should have just gone to the bakery in the first place. the cupcakes were adorable, the cookies looked fantastic, [...]
what we’re drinking: lagunitas
{lagunitas hop stoopid} another favorite from a favorite.
this ain’t your usual friday the 13th
today is cause for celebration! “why?” you ask? it’s usually a day full of bad luck. but no, not today… because today is the 5th anniversary of pop the cap in north carolina. {photo credit} it’s the day the 6% alcohol limit on beer was lifted. the day that killian’s lost it’s title as highest [...]
what we’re drinking {locally}: fullsteam
this weekend’s grocery shopping took a slight detour.{patio @ the flying saucer & summer basil farmhouse ale} we were nearby(ish). sampling some of durham’s brand new brewery’s first plow to pint releases, that are sourced locally, seasonally & organically and a lovely addition to a warm summer afternoon.
what we’re drinking: lagunitas
oh, just a little sumpin’. {a little sumpin’ sumpin ale}

tgif cocktail: millerlada
{hi! welcome to our new place!} this tasty beverage is brought to you by the triple degree temperatures prematurely showing themselves here in june. a savory, refreshing alternative to the typical summer umbrella drink, this is pretty much a michelada, if you’re familiar, but based on miller lite, as opposed to a mexican beer. as [...]
weekend in review: dogfish head dinner
no. we really didn’t do much in the way of cooking this weekend, but we still managed to do a good deal of eating & drinking, friday night being the highlight. if you read my previous post you knew that we were a) really glad it was friday and b) super pumped to be going [...]
